Arizona Blaze and Enchanting Empress Provide Sergei Prokofiev With Milestone Victories

ARIZONA BLAZE has provided first season sire SERGEI PROKOFIEV with a milestone first Group Winner when beating the Aidan O’Brien trained CAMILLE PISSARO in the Group 3  GAIN Marble Hill Stakes in honour of Theresa Marnane at the Curragh

It was the third race of his career and second win for ARIZONA BLAZE, who also won the opening juvenile maiden of the Irish season at the Curragh back in March for Amo Racing and Giselle de Aguiar and was second to Whistlejacket in the Listed First Flier Stakes here earlier this month.

The winner was bred by Andrew Bengough and partners out of the Equiano mare Liberisque, a winning daughter of Listed Finale Stakes winner Jane Austen. He cost was sold by Fittocks Stud for 36,000gns by Fittocks Stud to Amanda Skiffington at the Tattersalls December Foal Sales before selling to to Rodrigo Goncalves and Aguiar Bloodstock at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale for £82,000 when consigned by Flash Conroy’s Glenvale Stud.

The milestone win comes just days after ENCHANTING EMPRESS provided SERGEI PROKOFIEV with his first stakes winner when winning the Listed National Stakes at Sandwon Park, the filly was bred in partnership by Whitsbury Manor Stud and Llety Farms. Unbeaten in her three starts to date, she is also owned by Amo Racing and Giselle de Aguiar and was a yearling purchase for 62,000gns.
